The Redbirds (50+) put on an offensive clinic Saturday, riding a 12-run third inning to a commanding 17-6 victory over the Yankees! Mark Tierney led the charge with a three-hit performance, including a run-scoring triple that ignited the explosive rally.

The Redbirds broke things open in the third, as Tierney’s triple set the tone before a flurry of RBI hits from Aaron Nowels, Chris Cec, Lester Bedford, and Steve Smith. Tierney followed up with a two-run single later in the inning, while John Mahalik capped off the outburst with a two-run base hit of his own.

On the mound, Scott Clawson earned the win, allowing just two hits and zero earned runs over three innings. Tierney also flashed his versatility, tossing a perfect relief inning with a strikeout to keep the Yankees at bay.

The Redbirds racked up 17 hits, with Cec, Magee, Bedford, Fought, and Mahalik all delivering multi-hit games. Their offense continues to roll as they prepare for a rematch against the Yankees on Saturday. Can they keep the momentum going? Stay tuned!
