Marcos Vidal Shines as Redbirds (50+) Defeat Aces

Marcos Vidal collected three hits in four at-bats as the Redbirds (50+) defeated the Aces 10-6 on Saturday at McInnish Sports Complex. Vidal singled in the second, fourth, and fifth innings, contributing significantly to the team’s victory.

The Redbirds got on the board in the top of the first inning thanks to an error by the Aces and a double play by Daron Wilkinson, each scoring one run. The Aces tied the game in the bottom of the first inning with a hit-by-pitch and a walk.

In the top of the second inning, Vidal singled to give the Redbirds a 3-2 edge. The Aces tied the game again in the bottom of the third with a fielder’s choice. However, the Redbirds regained the lead in the top of the fourth inning after Vidal singled, John Mahalik doubled, and Steve Stone singled, each driving in one run.

Stone earned the win for the Redbirds, allowing five hits and three runs over four innings, striking out none and walking two. Jerry Gamez pitched in relief.

The Redbirds amassed 18 hits in the game, with Vidal, Kevin Fought, and Mahalik each collecting three hits. Chris Cec and Gamez also had multiple hits. Vidal and Mahalik each stole multiple bases, helping the Redbirds run wild on the base paths with four stolen bases.

The Aces collected nine hits, with PlayerC, PlayerE, and PlayerB each getting two hits. PlayerD, PlayerF, PlayerG, PlayerC, and PlayerE each drove in one run for the Aces, who turned one double play in the game.
