he Dallas Redbirds (50+) turned Saturday into a fireworks show at McInnish Sports Complex, lighting up the scoreboard in a 27-7 demolition of the Freebirds. The win was powered by an explosive third and fourth inning that saw the Redbirds hang 22 runs across just two frames.

After falling behind 7-5 in the bottom of the second thanks to a Freebirds surge, the Redbirds responded like a team on a mission. Jerry Gamez, who had already driven in two runs with a single in the third, stepped up again in the fourth and crushed a bases-clearing triple to deep right, part of a five-RBI day for the veteran slugger. His performance earned him Player of the Game honors.

Every Redbird in the starting lineup contributed offensively, with Daron Wilkinson going a perfect 3-for-3 and Kevin Fought notching two doubles and a pair of steals. In total, the Redbirds piled up 18 hits, walked 12 times, and stole four bases in a relentless display of offense.

On the mound, Gamez started but was victimized by a seven-run second inning—all unearned due to errors behind him. But Steve Stone slammed the door in the third with a clean inning to earn the win, and Chris Cec followed with two hitless frames to close it out.

Gamez delivered a monster performance at the plate, driving in five runs on a two-hit day, including a bases-clearing triple in the fourth inning and a two-run single in the third. His clutch bat flipped the momentum after the Redbirds trailed early, sparking the 22-run outburst that buried the Freebirds.

With this statement win, the Redbirds look every bit like a team rounding into postseason form.
