The Diablos struck first, scoring a run in the top of the third inning courtesy of a clutch single by Bill Hanley. However, the Redbirds quickly responded in the bottom of the inning, capitalizing on an error by the Diablos and a fielder’s choice by Mahalik to take the lead. Despite a limited number of hits, the Redbirds made the most of their opportunities, with key contributions from Chris Cec, Aaron Nowels, and Jerry Gamez, each driving in a run.
Defensively, the Redbirds put on a stellar performance, committing no errors throughout the game. Daron Wilkinson stood out in the field, recording the most chances with 10, while the team’s solid defensive play helped maintain their lead.
